Entrevista a Shuhei Hosono, editor jefe de la app Manga Plus by Shueisha

La editorial Shueisha quiere que los mangas de la Shonen Jump lleguen a nuevas audiencias incluyendo América Latina y Estados Unidos.

Y una prueba de ello es la app Manga Plus by Shueisha, que está disponible en inglés y español en las tiendas de Apple y Android.

Otaku Press visitó la sede de esta legendaria editorial en Tokio, Japón, y conversamos con Shuhei Hosono, editor jefe de la Shonen Jump Plus y de la aplicación móvil Manga Plus by Shueisha.


Acaba de lanzarse la app Manga Plus by Shueisha en español. ¿Qué expectativa tienen de su uso en América Latina? 

Shuhei Hosono: Nuestro objetivo principal en esta oportunidad fue centrarnos en los lectores hispano-hablantes y hacerles llegar los mangas. Por esa razón por supuesto que queremos que los usuarios de America Latina usen la aplicación de manga Plus y puedan tener acceso a sus mangas preferidos.

¿Qué mensaje tienen para los fans de América?

Shuhei Hosono: Hasta la fecha, aunque hay traducciones de los mangas a inglés y español, existía un desfase temporal en su publicación en comparación con Japón.

Y en algunos casos no era posible comprar estas versiones en sus países.

Así que esta vez, gracias al uso de Manga Plus, los fans pueden leer los mangas al mismo tiempo que en Japón. Esperamos que puedan unirse a lectores de todo el mundo y se emocionen con cada publicación.

¿Qué piensan los mangakas de que sus mangas sean leídos en tantos idiomas? 

Shuhei Hosono: El hecho de que sean traducidos al español no es lo único que los sorprende, sino también que sus mangas estén en otros idiomas. Los autores se impresionan cuando ven las carátulas de sus mangas y los sets en otros idiomas.

Realmente se emocionan y les da mucho gusto que su trabajo sea leído en tantos otros países.

Yo no sabía que los mangas eran traducidos en tantos idiomas hasta que entré a esta empresa, así que estaba sorprendido de que hubieran versiones en tantos idiomas distintos como español, italiano, francés, etc.

 A la fecha hay 27 mangas disponibles en español en la aplicación Manga Plus by Shueisha, ¿habrán más?

Shuhei Hosono: Efectivamente, aún estamos planeando al respecto, por lo que no puedo dar detalles específicos, pero seguiremos esforzándonos con nuestras traducciones.

Queremos que los fans en Latinoamérica y Estados Unidos sigan leyendo los mangas. Así que por favor descarguen y usen Manga Plus.

Pueden disfrutar del manga al mismo tiempo que en Japón en cualquier lugar del mundo junto a mucha gente.

Interview with  Shuhei Hosono, Head Editor  MANGA Plus by SHUEISHA 

United States and Latin America markets are on the sight of Shueisha. The recent release of Manga Plus by Shueisha app is proof of the Japanese publisher interest.

Manga fans can find Shonen Jump titles translated in English and Spanish on the app. Manga Plus by Shueisha is available for Android and Apple devices.

Otaku Press visited the building of this legendary publisher in Tokyo, Japan. Following, you'll find our interview with Shuhei Hosono, Head Editor “MANGA Plus by SHUEISHA”/ “Shonen Jump +” 

Question: What expectations do you have of the recent release of Manga Plus app?
Shuhei Hosono-san: Our main objective this time was to focus on the Spanish-speaking readers and deliver manga titles to them.
As such of course we want for Latin American users will use the Manga Plus app and be able to read the Jump’s manga titles they desire.

Question: What message do you have to fans of Shonen Jump manga titles in America? 
Shuhei Hosono-san: Until now, English and Spanish translations of Japanese manga were available however, there was a delay time wise compared to Japan.
It was not possible to buy the Spanish or English versions in some cases.
So this time, with the use of Manga Plus app, you can read at the same timing as in Japan, so it would be nice if you could join the worldwide readers and be excited with the releases.

Question: What manga authors think about the release of their manga chapters in other languages?
Shuhei Hosono-san: Not only the fact that manga titles are translated into Spanish surprise them, but also the fact that manga titles are translated into other languages. The authors get really impressed when they see the manga covers and manga sets in other languages.
They get really excited and glad that their work will be read in so many other countries.
I did not know that manga titles were translated to so many languages until I entered the company, so I was very surprised that there were so many languages such as Spanish, Italian, French, etc.

Question: At this moment, we have 27 manga titles in Spanish at the app MANGA PLUS by Shueisha. Will do we have more?  
Shuhei Hosono-san: Certainly, we are still planning on that, so can't give specific details but we will keep doing our best with the translations.
